2015 vintage report

High temperatures in May, June, July and August were a differentiating factor in this year’s weather. However, thanks to the abundant rainfall, high relative humidity and support irrigation, the vines did not suffer any stress and developed normally.

Rainfall was 291 l / m2 from January to September. Rain from March to June (the vine’s growing season) was 181 l / m2. June, in particular, saw rainfall which was above the average of the past 10 years.

Budding was very early and, up until the end of July, it looked as if we would soon be harvesting. However the grapes ripened slowly in August and, in the end, we harvested on the dates seen in recent years.

The harvesting began on 1 September with the Merlot and Syrah destined for the GR.174, which had reached the perfect point of maturity. Harvesting continued with the Garnatxa, Caranyena and Cabernet, with the final bunches being delivered to the winery on 15 October.

In total, we received 221,862 kg of grapes from our estates and those under contract with growers in the area.

The 2015 harvest came in, in perfect health, with ripe grapes and ripe tannins.

The wines show an average alcohol degree of 14.6% vol and an average natural acidity of

4.9 g / l in tartaric acid. The wines are currently continuing along their journey to the bottle.
